- Not a Cell Phone in Sight
The phrase “Not a cell phone in sight, just living in the moment” caught on as one the more popular memes of 2018. Ariana Grande’s hit single, “thank u, next,” took the Internet by storm for its strong message of female empowerment. - Astonished Pikachu Face
A low-quality image of Pikachu having an astonished, surprised look quickly became a meme this November. It’s meant to be a look of sarcastic astonishment, for when you know something will happen and think it won’t happen, but it happens anyway.
- They Did Surgery On a Grape
There was no real reason for this to become a meme, but it did. A video on YouTube of “surgery” being done on a grape went viral in November, and was all over Instagram and Twitter, with simply the caption “They did surgery on a grape.”
