How long have you been on the BOTC team?

Gillian Gandolfo: This is my 4th year.

Danielle Gubitosa: Sophomore, junior, and senior year – this is my third year.

Greg Solla: Freshman, sophomore, and senior year. I could not participate junior year because it was right after my knee surgery.

Alex Simon: I’ve been on the team since sophomore year, so this is my third year on the team.

Jen Weinstock: 4 years.

Do you think your team is well-constructed? Why?

Gillian Gandolfo: Every team member brings something different to the group. When you put all of us and our ideas together we really put on a show.

Danielle Gubitosa: The team is really well-constructed because not only are we all close friends we also all have our strengths. When we work together, we accomplish great things.

Greg Solla: Yes, we all have types of personalities and people with different strengths.

Alex Simon: Yes, because we all are very experienced since we have all been on the team for at least 2-3 years. We know how to prepare and are organized in what we need to accomplish.

Jen Weinstock: Yes, our team works well together and everyone’s input is always support by the other members of our team.

What event are you looking forward to most?

Gillian Gandolfo: Other than the dance at the end of the night, Junkyard Relay is always an exciting and nerve-racking event.

Danielle Gubitosa: The egg toss because Cristian [Corcione] and I are back and more ready than ever to win. Practice makes perfect.

Greg Solla: Either the balloon pop or egg toss. I feel like those events bring a lot of energy and excitement. They are fair game for anyone or any grade level.

Alex Simon: The lip dub, because we work so hard on it, and I love seeing everyone’s reaction to it. It is always the best part because it is very entertaining and funny.

Jen Weinstock: The junkyard relay because it has always been our best event and we have a strategic order now that it is our fourth year doing it.

Do you know the people on the team well? If so, do you think that makes you a better team?

Gillian Gandolfo: We’ve had the same group since sophomore year, so we’ve all become very close with one another. This definitely makes us a better team.

Danielle Gubitosa: Yes, I know the people on the team. This makes a better team because we freely share ideas and suggest changes with one another regarding the lip sync.

Greg Solla: Yes. It makes us a much better team. I view us as a big family as we have been together over the years, it definitely helps with communication and chemistry.

Alex Simon: Yes, definitely because we have all been doing this together for many years, so we have grown close and have all become friends. This makes us a better team because we know how we all work and we come together to do great things.

Jen Weinstock: Yes, I do because we are with each other every week. I feel it makes us a better team because we have more chemistry and it’s easier to communicate.

What’s the best part about being on the Senior BOTC team?

Gillian Gandolfo: Being able to be a part of something that the whole school enjoys and representing my grade with my friends is awesome. Being a senior now and coming off of our win last year definitely adds more pressure but we’ve been looking forward to our senior year BOTC ever since we were freshmen, and we’re ready to make it our best one yet.

Danielle Gubitosa: The best part of being a part of the Senior BOTC team is the night of when we all work together as a family. It’s something I am looking forward to this year.

Greg Solla: Just the overall experience is amazing. It’s our last year together so just being to do something we love with some of our closest friends is something we will never forget.

Alex Simon: The best part is being on a team that can win. It is so much fun to go out there and represent the grade and be a grade that is known for winning.

Jen Weinstock: It’s always so fun to work with all my friends to make the dance and we put so much hard work in it that when we perform the night of, it shows how all that work pays off.
