Since entering the Freehold Township hockey program four seasons ago, Max Halvorsen sensed something special about the group of first-year skaters surrounding him.

“When we came [to Freehold Township] as freshmen, there was a very talented group of seniors there, but something was missing from them. They didn’t have any chemistry,” Halvorsen said. “With our group, you could see it from day one. We were all friends on and off the ice. We all worked well together. Everyone fits into a role. It’s special.”
