So, this is my first ever post for the school newspaper (shoutout to Jonny Kandell for signing me up for it), and I’m very glad it’s a music column. Many people say I have good music taste so hopefully that’s somewhat true so this column doesn’t flop.

Many of you are well aware that I have a slight obsession with a certain artist named Lana Del Rey. And for those of you that don’t know, I have seen her twice live already and both experiences were like a second (and third) baptism.

I dedicate my first song of the week to her; it was hard to choose which song to use (mostly because the majority of the songs are inappropriate and not allowed to be shared on the school site); therefore “National Anthem” by Lana Del Rey is the chosen one.

The music video is focused on the assassination of John F. Kennedy and re-enactments of his personal life; let the dark pop and hip hop beats take over and listen closely to the story telling lyrics.
