YouTuber Gabbie Hanna did a lyric breakdown with Genius earlier this month for her song “Monster.” Nobody expected her to completely yell a high note, and the unexpectedness of the moment was what made it go viral (in addition to Gabbie Hanna being known to not be the best singer). That moment in the interview was followed by many remixes and effects put on her singing, making this video one of the most memorable memes of 2018.

• Wanna Sprite Cranberry

In early November, the Sprite YouTube channel uploaded a Christmas-themed animated advertisement for their Sprite Cranberry drink, featuring LeBron James providing a family with the soft drink during the holiday. LeBron’s somewhat abrupt entrance and the awkwardly-placed line “Wanna Sprite Cranberry?” resulted in memes being made of the commercial, and also led to Sprite’s YouTube channel taking the video down altogether.

Remember that know-it-all kid in the yellow pajamas and glasses from The Polar Express? Well, he’s a meme now. Perhaps it was the holiday season that made him go viral, but one thing is for sure: the memes involving him are pretty funny.
