BotC: Sophomore Profile
The holiday season is around the corner and spirits could never be higher here at FTHS! Arguably the most anticipated event of the year, BOTC serves as a phenomenal showcase of team morale, camaraderie between all classes, and talent on the dance floor. Each grade consistently tunes their efforts and strategies to leave a firm impression in the minds of audiences despite their representing team, and features numerous exhibitions of just how hard each team is willing to work to secure their claim to the champion title and deliver truly unique performances!
The sophomore class this year consists of fourteen promising contestants, being: John Leonetti, Acasia Giannakouros, Olivia Juliano, Kristen Lee, Joe Lardaro, Anthony Bartel, Zach Orrico, Lorenzo Chirichella, Gianna Whisten, Jake Stern, Griffin Murphy, Peyton Ferrano, Jill Laricy, Brooke Zolezi, and Ben Cooperman.
The Patriot Press was able to speak with members of the dedicated team regarding their experiences as they feature returning and new members alike, all of who are looking forward to captivating students this year! While all members were not available at the time of our request, we were able to talk to Lorenzo Chirichella, Olivia Juliano, Jill Laricy, Peyton Ferrano, and Gianna Whisten about their experiences on the team.
How long have you been on the BOTC team?
- Lorenzo Chirichella: I have been on the BOTC team since the middle of this October.
- Olivia Juliano: This is my second year.
- Jill Laricy: This is my second year.
- Peyton Ferrano: 2 years.
- Gianna Whisten: This is my first year.
Do you think your team is well constructed? Why?
- Lorenzo Chirichella: I do think my team is very well constructed for many reasons. We have great chemistry, all of us are very close, we have great ideas, good listening skills, and are all cooperative.
- Olivia Juliano: Yes because we all get along.
- Jill Laricy: Yes because we have good communication.
- Peyton Ferrano: Yes, because we’re all good friends making our bond better.
- Gianna Whisten: Yes, because we are all a big group of friends.
What event are you looking forward to most?
- Lorenzo Chirichella: The event I am most looking forward to is the tug-o-war because us sophomores want to pull of an upset again!
- Olivia Juliano: The dance!
- Jill Laricy: The dance.
- Peyton Ferrano: The dance.
- Gianna Whisten: Tug of War.
Do you know the people on the team well? If so, do you think that makes you a better team?
- Lorenzo Chirichella: I know everyone on the team very well and yes this does make us a better team, because we have chemistry.
- Olivia Juliano: Yes, and yes that makes us a better team.
- Jill Laricy: Yes, we all work well together and get along.
- Peyton Ferrano: Yes ; yes.
- Gianna Whisten: Yes, and yes it makes us a better team.
What is the best part about being on the Sophomore BOTC team.
- Lorenzo Chirichella: The best part about being on the team is coming up with creative ideas and making cool costumes.
- Olivia Juliano: Creating a close friendship.
- Jill Laricy: Being with the team a lot.
- Peyton Ferrano: Making memories.
- Gianna Whisten: We are always having fun.
Be honest: Do you think you’ll be able to beat the seniors this year?
- Lorenzo Chirichella: 100%, we got positive feedback about our dance already and our costumes are looking GREAT!!
- Olivia Juliano: Not at all!
- Jill Laricy: No way!
- Peyton Ferrano: Yes!
- Gianna Whisten: Yes!
