The Seniors

Senior year is already flying by for students as they reach the end of November and BOTC week approaches. School events like the battle of the classes are what students live for, especially as a senior when the school year seem’s to be an overall more fun experience. This years Senior team consists of Gabby Beam, Julia Roessler Laura Noseworthy, Meg Latona, Monique Amoroso, Sarah Messink, Theresa Sanzone, Bryan Reed, Eric Quartey, Kevin Finn, Kyle Cleary, Kyle Melone, Mike Cenname and Ryan Fiolek.

How did you feel when you found out you were chosen to represent your class?

  • Laura Noseworthy: When I found out that I was chosen, I was so excited and honored because this will be my fourth year. It’s really nice to be voted again and again each year.
  • Bryan Reed: It’s always cool to know that your class supports you and wants to see you embarrass yourself. It’s a true honor and I’m thrilled to be apart of it.
  • Monique Amoroso: It felt like such an honor to be selected, especially because it’s Senior year.

What is your favorite part of preparing for the night?

  • Mike Cenname: My favorite part about preparing is just being with my team at practices. When we are together, we have such a great time and it’s really special because of how close we all are.
  • Bryan Reed: Getting to do goofy stuff with your best friends for weeks preparing for the night never gets old.

Which do you feel will be the team’s hardest competition/event of the night?

  • Kyle Melone: I think the dance will be the hardest competition because I have to remember my spot and all of the moves. Also, the seniors always have good dance so we have to be good and surprise the crowd to make up for previous years dances.
  • Sarah Messink: The dance will be the hardest since most of the guys aren’t very coordinated or rhythmic, except Bryan Reed of course, he is a wonderful dancer. It takes a lot of time to choreograph an entire dance in such a little amount of time but we’re gonna look amazing out there, don’t sleep on us

How do you feel you guys will improve from last year?

  • Sarah Messink: I think that since we have some new people, and a lot of new ideas, this year will be really different and better compared to previous years. Everybody is putting a lot of effort into it because it’s our senior year and I know that that’ll show when we’re out there Tuesday night.

What do you feel is the best quality that you bring to your team?

  • Kyle Cleary: My best quality that I can bring is being able to get the crowd laughing. You’ll have to wait for the night to come to find out, but I know the crowd will be in tears.
  • Kyle Melone: I think that my best quality is my personality, humor, strength and my good looks.
  • Laura Noseworthy: I think that my best quality would be my athleticism. I grew up my whole life playing sports and I think it really helps in events like the relay and the egg toss. It also helps in tumbling in the dance because I have spent many years doing gymnastics.
  • Monique Amoroso: I have been dancing in large groups until I was about 3 years old so choreographing to music comes very natural to me. That is definitely the best quality I bring to the team.

What is your favorite event of the night?

  • Kyle Melone: My favorite event of the night is the scooter race because I’m the best at it and I’ve been practicing my whole life for this moment.
  • Kyle Cleary: The dance is my favorite event of the night because I don’t do a lot of dancing as an athlete. It feels great to go out there and get to shake it in front of the whole school.
  • Laura Noseworthy: My favorite event is the lip sync and dance portion. It’s always fun to see what everyone else has prepared and practiced for the night. They always come out good and I love to watch each team’s creativity.
  • Mike Cenname: The dance is also my favorite part because I’m pretty bad at dancing. It makes it hilarious and I love doing it.

How does it feel to be doing this for the last time?

  • Kyle Cleary: It feels amazing to do this one last time. I have participated every year so far and I am excited to not only win this year, but perform better than ever.
  • Mike Cenname: It’s sad for this to be our last year, but it motivates the team to give it our all and do our best.
  • Bryan Reed: It’s honestly depressing. For all four years of high school, I have watched the senior class have their sad going away song at the end of the dance and to have to make that up in our dance is a harsh wake up call. It’s sad to finally realize that we’re approaching the end to the best four years of high school that anyone can ask for.
  • Sarah Messink: Even though this is my first year taking part in the BotC team, I think we have the opportunity to do this. So, I feel that it’s going to be really bittersweet looking back on everything once it’s all over.
  • Monique Amoroso: It feels bittersweet because it is sad that it will be my last time participating in BotC. But, at the same time, it’s very special to be able to represent my class

This is the comeback year that the Class of 2018 has been waiting for. They have worked hard and as a team prepared to wow the crowd. To come see the Seniors and all of the other classes battle it out, be sure to come to Township’s gymnasium on Tuesday, November 21st to watch it all happen!
