Max Nowak: Player of the Week

Leah Emmerich, Editor

When did you start playing football?

“I started playing football when I was 3, but I started playing tackle football in second grade for Pop Warner.”

What made you want to play for the school?

“My favorite football team is the New England Patriots, so I’ve always wanted to be a Patriot. This is also my hometown so it only felt right to play for Township.”

Who do you feel is your biggest supporter?

“All of my team mates, especially Larson Johnson.”

How did you feel when you made your second touchdown?

“The first one didn’t feel like anything special, but I was excited about the second one because it put the game out of hand for the other team so (Marlboro) couldn’t win.”

How did you feel when you were nominated for player of the week?

“I was happier about the actual game itself and that I was finally able to contribute to the team, being nominated was just a bonus.”

How do you feel about being Shore Conference Player of the Week?

“I feel honored to be Player of the Week and I would like to thank everyone who voted for me.”

How did your family respond?

“My parents congratulated me, and my grandparents saw the actual game and they said it made their weekend.”

Do you think you deserved it?

“I think there were players that were nominated that did deserve it more than me, but my win is just a testament of how good the fans are at FTHS.”

Do you see yourself playing football in the future?

“I want to play for as long as I can until I run out of opportunities.”

Max wanted to close out his interview by telling everyone how thankful he is for all the Patriot fans that had voted for him.
