Whitley, Class of ’16, Wins Big 10 Honor

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Big Ten Conference announced the 2016 All-Big Ten Women’s Soccer Teams and individual honors Friday, with Big Ten tri-champion Minnesota earning three individual accolades. The Golden Gophers’ Simone Kolander was selected as the Forward of the Year, Rashida Beal collected Defender of the Year honors and Stefanie Golan claimed Coach of the Year plaudits. Northwestern’s Lauren Clem was named Goalkeeper of the Year, while Rutgers’ Nicole Whitley was chosen Freshman of the Year, and Wisconsin’s Rose Lavelle was the Midfielder of the Year.
